The June 2023 Nintendo Direct showcase gave us a lot to look forward to over the next year on Switch, but the star of the show had to be the reveal of a brand new 2D Mario game, Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

Thoughts after our first viewing of the trailer were mainly dominated by the elephant in the room — we mean the literal elephant — but we soon managed to pull ourselves together and begin to take in some of the other, hidden features.
